The Windows Live Mobile team provides wireless device access to popular Windows Live Services such as WL Mail (aka Hotmail) and WL Messenger (MSN IM), as well as rest of the emerging set of Windows Live Services. We also provide the wireless operator connectivity and mobile service expertise to many other groups within Microsoft as they look to extend their product reach into the mobile market. In many markets around the world our WL PC services cannot win the market without strong mobile integration. We are tasked with developing rich data services that can resonate with over a billion mobile users worldwide and we are looking for top talent to make this happen.
The Shenzhen Mobile team is an extension of the Redmond product group with 2 distinct missions: wining in mobile in China and delivering key features in the global mobile product. We build rich clients running on multiple handset platforms, IVR, SMS, MMS & WAP services as well as mobile games.
We are looking for individuals who can help capture the mobile innovation that is happening in China and apply it both to products being deployed locally as well as globally. Mobile communication continues to increase in importance in many diverse applications and will continue to take a more central role in the evolution of all forms of communication and technological advances over the coming years. The Shenzhen Mobile team is primed for significant growth with our continued investments in the overall WL Mobile strategy so now is a great time to get in on the ground floor and join a space which is limited only by your passion and creativity!

Responsibilities:
-Build and lead a growing PM team.
-Help define and drive process integration between Shenzhen and Redmond.
-Work with the Redmond PM and Product Management team to set product direction for the features developed in Shenzhen.
-Own one or more feature areas and ensure that the end product meets the expectations of the spec.
-Work with the Redmond team to deliver specs that the SZ dev team can build products to.
-Coordinate communication between the wide range of teams involved in our projects in Redmond, Shenzhen and other parts of China.

Qualifications:
-A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
-Minimum 7 years of experience in project management and/or product feature specification roles with at least 2 years of those including a team management function.
-Proven track record of building great teams.
-Strong mobile user empathy. Competency with rich mobile client, web app, and/or web services design.
-Experience in mobile application software projects, web service development, a solid understanding of the unique challenges the mobile space presents and experience in working with mobile operators is highly desirable.
-Outstanding written and oral communication skills, strong oral and written English is a priority with the ability to communicate orally in Mandarin highly desirable.
-The ability to move to Shenzhen, China and travel to the US several times a year.
